History

Annual History Day Competition - University of Missouri- St. Louis

Help your student bring history out of the text books and in to real life at History Day 2009. History Day is an annual competition that the University of Missouri- St. Louis holds on their campus in February. This unique event allows students in 6th grade through 12th grade to display projects related to history. This years theme is "The Individual in History" and participants can compete in any of the five categories including research paper, Documentary, Exhibit,  Performance, and Web Site . Students may even have a chance to go on to compete at state in Columbia, Missouri and the national competition in Washington D.C. This competition is great for young people who already have an interest in history and for those who many benefit from seeing that they can study history in a fun and unusual way. You can visit the website listed below for more information- be sure to check out past winners and if you have any questions you can e-mail Dr. Peter Acsay at acsayp@umsl.edu  or go to http://www.nationalhistoryday.org/About.htm
