Built in 1792 by Louis Bolduc, a refugee from the French and Indian War who became the richest man in Ste. Genevieve, this vertical log house is filled with everything a French family needed for life in the eighteenth century. Homeschoolers will be able to explore the house and its authentic kitchen garden. Then compare and contrast the changes in the town after the Louisiana Purchase by visiting the LeMeilleur House which was built by Bolduc's grand-daughter in around 1815. Behind our third historic Linden House we even have a Lewis and Clark garden filled with the plants they discovered and brought back from the West. For a more activity-based educational experience, call ahead to set up your special program of games, crafts, and activities. We are located just 60 minutes south of the Arch on Highway 55.
