HSLDA is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and protect their freedoms. It offers pre-paid legal protection for homeschooling families in matters pertaining to homeschooling. HSLDA also provides extensive on-line resources to the home school community It also operates the National Center for Home Education, which watches trends in homeschooling and monitors activities in Washington.
