St. Louis Homeschool Explorers Club Leaders: David & Patricia Breed e-mail dpbreed@sbcglobal.nethttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/HSExplorer/We're a small group of homeschooling families meeting on the third Monday morning of each month at Crusade Baptist Temple in South St. Louis County. Most of us have elementary or middle-school age children. We encourage acceptance and respect for others; we hope this group will be a "safe haven" for our children. Our primary goal is create a small community of families where the children (and parents) know each other well. Our secondary goal is to have something interesting to do with the kids every Friday afternoon. We take turns planning activities such as park days, tours, museum visits, game days, and craft days. For example, if we have eight members, then each family schedules an activity once every eight weeks. Our emphasis is on social interaction and play, not academics. | |
