HomeLink's purpose is to assist families with homeschooling
and to provide support, encouragement, accountability, and training that will enhance the parent's role as parent-teacher.  It is not really a school.  Rather, the program links academics to the students at home.  It operates as a "college model," allowing students to come to a class for one period per week, then accomplishing their study for that class at home, then returning the following week to review their work and move to the next lesson in the class.  The targeted group for actual classes in HomeLink are grades 6-12 (sometimes younger).

This year we are offering many classes--please consult the website for detailed descriptions and prices.  The majority of the classes are offered on Thursdays with some on Wednesdays.

Trina Stephens Offers Children’s Oil Painting Classes

Trina Stephens is currently accepting registrations for her oil painting classes. Mrs. Stephens has been teaching oil painting at First Baptist Church of Arnold for 3 1/2 years, where she also serves as the director of their art ministry. Mrs. Stephens is a Certified Dorothy Dent Instructor (CDDI). Many of the paintings she teaches are Dorothy Dent’s original designs. For more information about Dorothy Dent or her artwork you can go to www.dorothydent.com.

Eleven of Mrs. Stephen’s students had pieces that were selected during the various juried regional homeschool fairs to hang in the St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s Children Choice Exhibit this summer. Several of these pieces will be on display through August 11th.

Mrs. Stephens is offering a number of courses this fall for home schooled students; including "Hunter's Cabin," "Grandpa's Barn," "Country Home", and “King of the Mountain.” These classes are open to all students 10 years of age and up. The beginning classes are designed for children who have no, or limited oil painting experience. In these classes they learn about the paint colors, color mixing, color value and brush strokes.
